Summer, a dream time for family get-togethers

The 5 best outdoor activities to do in France in summer
There are so many fun activities for families to do in France during the summer that it can be hard to narrow this list down to just five. That said, here are some of the best outdoor summer activities for families in France:

1. Explore France's beaches: France has an abundance of beautiful beaches, from secluded coves to vast stretches of sand in Normandy, Charente-Maritime and the Landes. Families can enjoy a variety of beach activities including swimming, beach volleyball, sandcastle building, water sports and much more.

2. Have fun at theme parks: France has many exciting theme parks that are perfect for families. From water and wildlife parks to traditional children's rides, there's something for everyone. At Vacances André Trigano, the Zoo de la Palmyre is located next to the mobile homes of the Domaine de Montcalm campsite, so be the first to visit the animals at lunchtime.

3.Go cycling: France is a cyclist's paradise, with many roads and cycle paths to discover. In fact, I've heard that cycling vacations are super trendy! As a family, it's a great opportunity to get in some exercise, enjoy a relaxing bike ride in nature, and explore the beauty of the French countryside. On the Vélodyssée from Roscoff to Saint-Jean-de-Luz, stopovers at campsites such as La Grière, Le Domaine de Montcalm and Le Domaine de Fierbois, or on the Viarhôna from Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean, will give you a taste of the great outdoors during your rest periods.

4. Try hiking: For adventurous families, France's hiking trails offer a variety of options, from short guided walks to more challenging hikes. They are an opportunity to discover the flora and fauna specific to each corner of our hexagon, to appreciate the regional diversity of historical heritages and incredible landscapes, as for example in the Hautes-Alpes with its Écrins natural park; or along the banks of the Dordogne in the Périgord region, in the footsteps of prehistoric man, or in the Pyrénées Atlantiques at Hendaye or Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle, on the route to Santiago de Compostela.

5. Discover sporting and cultural festivals and events: In summer, France is renowned for its music, art and cultural festivals, sandcastle contests and sporting competitions. These major events offer an excellent opportunity to discover the cultures, traditions and lifestyles of different French regions. Here are a few ideas:

The Bayonne festival, the Francofolies in La Rochelle, the Roc d'Azur in Saint-Raphaël, the Trail des Écrins in Embrun, etc...
